Sunsets-What are they?

I am sure that all of you know what a sunset is, but do you know when exactly it happens?

A sunset appears when the side of the Earth that you are on rotates away from the sun. This means that while you may be obvserving a nice sunset in Illinois in America, it will morning in China. You have probably noticed that the time that a sunset may happen in your area changes throughout the year. This is because while the Earth may be rotating, it also orbits around the sun. It has an elliptical orbit around the sun, which means that the sun will move at slightly different speeds over the year. Also, the Earth's axis is not perpendicular to the plane of its orbit. Instead it has a 23.4°. Earth's axis also causes our seasons.
